Drainage problem

What a wet, boggy, cold mess this one was!
Our customer had a long-lasting problem with flooding and, following another contractor’s previous failed investigation and repair, the water board were called out and advised it was likely to be a natural spring causing the problem.
I therefore installed a 4” land drainage pipe to take away the constant flow of water over 200m to the nearest dyke, excavating a nicely sufficient gradient all set up by laser level, gravelled up and backfilled the water was flowing away nicely.
But i didn’t want to leave it there as i felt there was more to this water problem. I carried out further investigations, and after a trial dig, getting wet, cold and muddy, i found a burst water pipe, this was then uncovered, excavated out and repaired.
The job was left clean and tidy with a happy customer.
