Ultimate Plant were appointed to undertake the asbestos removal and demolition of the former Lincolnshire Motors building in Brigg.
Works started with the safe, controlled removal of all asbestos containing materials, followed by soft stripping the building before the main demolition work commenced.
The building was demolished systematically by removing all asbestos double skinned roof sheets via a working platform. Sheets were then safely lowered into a sealed asbestos waste skip, and removed from site to a licenced disposal facility.
The brickwork to the building was removed in sections to keep the strength in between the framework. I then safely removed the roof purlings, ready to then delicately remove the steel stanchions for the clients re-use of the building.
UPA safely cut the concrete around the stanchions to allow me to break the concrete holding the framework in place. This allowed me to delicately pull the framework out in full sections.
All works were undertaken using the company’s Volvo EWR150E Wheeled Excavator, as this protected the original concrete base which was remaining in situ.
