Demolition of DB Lawrence building / Sleaford standard office

The DB Lawrence Building has historical significance to Sleaford, being the head office for the Sleaford Standard Newspaper in a prominent position in the town centre.

What I Did For The Client

The DB Lawrence Building has historical significance to Sleaford, being the head office for the Sleaford Standard Newspaper in a prominent position in the town centre.

DB Lawrence approached Ultimate Plant for a detailed asbestos survey to be carried out on the building prior to demolition work commencing.

Due to the location of the building, a full traffic management system was in place for the duration of the project, to avoid any disruption to the Doctor’s surgery situated directly opposite the site.

Work commenced initially with the removal of the trees surrounding the front of the building, followed by asbestos removal and soft stripping the building prior to the main demolition work commencing.

The demolition work started with the safe removal of the staircase and gable end, which was attached to the adjacent occupied building.

I then carefully completed the safe controlled demolition, with all waste segregated into skips, and coordinated the removal of concrete arisings off site.

Full dust suppression was in place during the demolition work to protect any passing pedestrians along with local residents.
